In
this chapter, first a critique of management philosophy
and thought is presented to exemplify the influence of
Western thought on management theories and their rational
and logical outlook.
If
it can be established that the information that we receive
through so many external sources is merely information
and not knowledge as we perceive it, it would open a new
window into the true human nature.
Herzberg (1959) illustrated his
theory of motivation by a biblical example. As explained
in earlier parts (Chapter 2.2) he established that Man
has two sets of needs; his need to avoid pain and his
need as a human to grow.
